Tulia Finucci grew up in Venezuela and came to the U.S. in 1994. She has a degree in child development and a master’s degree in social work. Since the beginning of her career over twenty years ago, Tulia has trained and coached teachers of English language learners and supported immigrant families. Tulia is passionate about her work and will continue to write about the beauty and the resilience of immigrant children and families and the many other subjects related to social justice that affect all of us.

Vanessa Balleza is a children's story illustrator and plastic artist, with a special ability to capture warm moments with vivid details and imagination. Her motivation is to involve adults and children in fostering a lifetime love of reading and art by using the power of imagination and creativity. Her work shows magical elements within an existing world.

When the author decided to print this book, she was determined to find a company that offered responsible policies ensuring the production was sustainable, respectful to the environment, and minimized the carbon footprint. This book was printed by La Imprenta, in Bogotá, Colombia, using vegetable-based, eco-friendly inks and paper while using the least amount of energy and water during production.
